Northern Caribbean University is a Seventh-day Adventist, English-speaking university, owned and operated by the West Indies Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists headquartered in Mandeville. We are the oldest private tertiary institution in Jamaica formerly known as West Indian Training College, which offered courses up to the twelfth grade. Course offerings developed to include theology, teaching, secretarial science, business, and natural sciences to rank as a junior college. Senior college status was achieved in the latter part of the 1950’s with the offering Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. Since then, several baccalaureate and graduate programmes have been added in 1999 the college was granted university status by the Jamaican Government.
